For future sake,

There's a way to make your own hard drive for the Xbox 360. Doing so requires that you have a computer that has SATA on the motherboard, is able to boot to USB hard drives/thumb drives, and you have to have MS Dos mounted to a Thumb drive with two files on it. You need HDDHacker 0.91 and an HDDSS.BIN File for the drive size you'd like. You also need a Western Digital BEVS Series 2.5" SATA Hard drive and some sort of way to attatch the hard drive to your console. You can probably buy a dead Xbox 360 hard drive on ebay for cheap and use the case and connector for this mod. You can use the HP USB Disc Storage Format Tool to mount a copy of MS Dos to the thumbdrive and then drag and drop the files over.

For this process, you'll be booting to a copy of FreeDos on the thumb drive with your 120GB BEVS series WD hard drive connected to the sata port (No other hard drives) and you run the command "HDDHACKR -F" in dos to flash the firmware on the drive and set it up as a 360 hard drive. after a reboot you run the command again to verify. Once the hard drive is flashed you plug it in to a console and format it! Voila, you're done!

If you don't want to use an external connector for the hard drive, you can internalize it as well just as this link from Llamma.com shows. I've never tried it but I'm sure it works.

***Side note: Someone here mentioned that the Arcade has no compatibility with the Xbox 360 hard drive, however it's the exact same console as the Pro, just with a plastic cover. There's absolutely no difference between motherboards on the Arcades, Pros and Elites other than revision types. Those vary from oldest to newest by the names Xephyr, Falcon, and Jasper. You can find an internet article on all three if needed***
